MVV Maastricht football team's logo is based on the city's coat of arms: an angel holding a red shield with a white star.

In the 1980s and early 1990s, MVV had a hardcore supporter group called the Angel Side, known for hooliganism and rioting. In the 2020s, the group still exists but without its prior reputation.
