Still life of sword on a velvet cushion with bricade curtains

The plate is housed within an Anglo-American style enclosure. This is then house within a velvet covered surround which would have fitted within a folding case (now missing). See examples by Kilburn listed elsewhere on this database. / Rare daguerreotype still life. Held in a mount of a type favoured by Kilburn from 1851.
