Film představuje technickou podstatu a historický vývoj staroměstského orloje na budově Staroměstské radnice v Praze. Jelikož se radnice stala jednou z mála pražských budov poničených v období osvobozování Prahy, byla v poválečném období symbolem nezlomnosti českého národa.
