Saint Laurentius church and vicinity in Ename around 1085
Although the abbey is governing the church and getting income from its pilgrimage activities, no major changes seem to happen to church. Its mural paintings and especially its Maiestas Domini painting on the arcade of the upper east choir must be visible and well known, referring to the glorious past of the trade settlement.
