Repair work in the ports of Rotterdam
Weeknummer 46-36
The port of Rotterdam is repaired from war damage. At the bottom, in front of the quays, there are still large concrete chunks that need to be cleaned up. For this work, use is made of a so-called "Dipper-dredger", temporarily on loan from the Americans. With this apparatus, a floating sheerlegs with a huge lever and a mechanical happer, the concrete chunks are scooped from the bottom.
