After first flowering the bees are collected and returned to the premises of beekeeper Georg Klindworth (Langenfelde bei Sittensen) where they receive artificial food. Tools are inspected and repaired in preparation for swarming. Nets, boxes for sending the animals, basket hives are repaired and sealed in cow dung.
