Hu-Ch'in & Bow, Shêng, San-Hsien and P'i-P'a

The Hu-Ch'in (left) was one of the most popular musical instruments in Peking. The P'i-P'a had a body that was nearly a foot in diameter and was usually played by men who were hired as minstrels or ballad-singers in the South of China.
